Ella and Max packed a basket for their picnic. They brought sandwiches, apples, and juice. The sun was shining, and the sky was blue. They walked to the park and found a soft patch of grass. Just as they sat down, a dog ran over and barked. It sniffed their basket and wagged its tail. 'Hello there,' Max said, laughing. The dog sat beside them and looked hungry. Ella gave it a piece of apple. The dog ate it and licked her hand. Soon, a lady came running. 'Thank you for finding my dog!' she said. Ella and Max smiled. Their picnic had turned into a happy surprise.
